Description
Famous Bridge in Antietam National Park this picturesque crossing over Antietam Creek, built in 1836. For almost three hours, Confederates prevented Ambrose Burnside's U.S. soldiers from crossing the bridge. It is on the National Register of Historic Places and was later named after General Ambrose Burnside.
